The platform

People, records and livestock.
A connected platform.

UNLP creates pathways between association networks, useful information and everyday livestock activity.

Start with the relationship. Keep the records clear. Use the context to understand the next step.

The connected model

Each connection
keeps its meaning.

Follow the relationship from a person to a record, then to its purpose and a practical next step.

01 / Relationships

Start with
the person.

A person can have distinct association memberships. Each relationship keeps its own context.

The association and relevant chapter help explain the membership. Areas of work may overlap; a person is not confined to one occupation.

A shared person reference does not merge memberships.

The diagram explains the membership model. It is not a record of any individual’s memberships.

02 / Record types

One story.
Different records.

A person’s identity, a membership, a livestock reference and a dated event describe different things.

Connecting those references adds context. It does not make one record a substitute for the evidence or purpose of another.

Connected by references. Kept distinct in meaning.

A livestock event can relate to a person and an animal without becoming a membership or identity credential.

03 / Purpose & permission

Keep the source.
Carry the context.

Useful information needs a source, a date and a clear purpose. Access must respect the permissions around it.

Completeness and verification answer different questions. An authorised correction should keep the earlier value and the reason for the change visible.

CHANGE HISTORY

Earlier value → authorised change → reason & time

A connection between records does not grant unrestricted access or automatically verify the information.

04 / Practical pathways

Make information
useful to you.

Start with the question you need to answer: a membership question, care event, market handover or practical next step.

The Member Services guides cover Membership & Identity, Animal Health & Productivity, Market Access, Financial Access and Member Support. They explain useful information and the decisions that belong to an association, provider or relevant authority.

Different systems. Different purposes.UNLP · NLIMS · NAITS · NLITS · NADIS

Nigeria's livestock information landscape includes sector information, animal identification and disease-surveillance initiatives. Each has its own purpose and responsible institutions.

UNLP Registry
The public Registry overview explains the platform’s record framework. It is separate from government systems and does not offer a public search of private member records.
NLIMS
National Livestock Information Management System. In June 2026, the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development described validation of its proposed architecture and prototype before deployment. Read the ministry’s 19 June 2026 report.
NAITS
The National Animal Identification and Traceability System concerns identifying and tracing animals. An animal identifier and a person’s association membership serve different purposes. Read the NAITS introduction.
NLITS
The ministry used the name National Livestock Identification and Traceability System in its 28 November 2025 report on livestock data systems. That named system is described separately here from NAITS.
NADIS
The National Animal Disease Information System concerns animal-disease information and surveillance. The ministry’s 28 November 2025 report identifies it among the sector’s data systems; it is distinct from an association membership register.

These descriptions explain the systems’ purposes. They do not establish a live data connection with UNLP.

A few useful answers

Before you
take the next step.

Can I register or view member records here?

Registration is not open on this website. The public Registry explains record concepts; it does not provide access to private member records. The Membership & Identity guide explains the relationship between a person, their membership and a member reference.

Does a shared record guarantee a service?

A record can provide useful context. Care, a market transaction, finance or another service still depends on the relevant provider’s assessment, terms and availability. The website does not book services or approve applications.

Is association membership a regulatory certificate?

No. A membership credential describes an association relationship. It is not an animal-health certificate, market licence or government permit. Read about governance and institutional responsibilities.
