Daily Hint News reported on April 25, 2026 that YAPPPIP Director-General Dr. Aliyu Isah Chikaji and IMP CEO Abdullah Salem formalised an MoU focused on upgrading the Damaturu abattoir. The report describes assessments and a proposed partnership to develop livestock processing in Yobe.

YAPPPIP’s December 2025 LinkedIn post provides the earlier context: discussions with Salem about investment in meat processing, dairy and feedlot development. It is an introductory investment engagement, separate from the April 2026 report of the MoU.
